Reformission is...

"Reformission is a radical call to reform the church's traditionally flawed view of missions as something carried out in foreign lands and to focus instead on the urgent need in our own neighborhoods, which are filled with diverse cultures of Americans who desperately need the gospel of Jesus and life in his Church. Most significant, they need a gospel and a church who are faithful both to the scriptural texts and to the cultural contexts of America....What I am advocating is not an abandonment of missions across the globe but rather an emphasis on missions that begins across the street, like Jesus commanded (Acts 1:8)" -Mark Driscoll, The Radical Reformission

Boy is this book yanking my brain around. I was up 'til almost 2am last night reading through chapter 2. There are some seriously different thoughts here for me. I'm really praying that God will be in the reading of this book, 'cause Driscoll is presenting some really strong, persuasive ideas. Lots to think about. Lots to talk about.

This book has certainly made me think (and rethink) about the way in which we approach mission and evangelism.I can't wait until we can all get together and hash through the idea presented in this book. I pray that the Lord will continue to mold us and move us as we seek to serve him.

Also, I'm glad that we were able to hang out the other night. We'll have to do it again real soon.
